The 45th Missouri State Boys’ Championships are now transcribed in the record books. And Sporting St. Louis players had a role.
A belated congratulations to the Cadets of CBC High School and the St. Dominic Crusaders, along with Sporting players Max Steffen and Adam Osvath.
Last weekend CBC beat Vader’s nationally ranked Chaminade Red Devils in the Missouri Boys’ Class 3 State Soccer Championship. The state’s two best teams met in the final, and the Cadets won 2 – 0. This gives CBC eight titles, the most among large schools. Freshman Max Steffen, one of Sporting’s own, contributed throughout CBC’s season, earning lots of minutes for a firstie.
In Class 2, St. Dominic defeated Carthage 2 – 1. It’s Dominic’s fourth title. Junior and Sporting St. Louis player Adam Osvath played an important role in Dominic’s season and run through the post season.
